With that said, let me get on to what is really important, our 2 precious munchkins!
Kelby had her 15 month check up last week and here are her stats:
Weight: 21 lbs. (25%)
Height: 32 1/2" (95%)
Personality wise she has just absolutely exploded! She has really always entertained us with her quirkiness and sheer intelligence, but now that she's getting older it is so much more fun to watch! Her little devious side has also become more prevalent, although it has always been there as well. I can remember even as a young infant she would grab onto the cord of the diaper wipe warmer and tug on it and I would say "Kelby, no, no". She would get the biggest grin on her face and let go and then I would say "good job", and then she'd go right back to tug on it again.
In the last couple of weeks she has gone to throwing a full blown tantrum if things don't go her way, or if she wants something and can't have it. She does the whole 'laying on the ground kicking her legs and whining or screaming' thing(depending on how bad she wants it I guess). The worst, or maybe best part is, I can't help but laugh. And I don't want her to think I am discounting her frustrations or feelings, but she's just so darned cute when she does it. With Kaleb it used to really stress me out and get on my nerves. But for some reason I don't get that way with her. Maybe it's the "been there done that" scenario. But even though she likes to test us, and her FAVORITE word to say besides "DaDa" is "NO", she is still on most days just as happy and silly as she can be.
There is probably nothing more in this world (and this is probably not the first time I've written it), than watching Kelby and Kaleb interact with each other. It can truly take your breath away at how precious they are together. Random little touches or kisses, helping each other (Kaleb loves to help his sissy find her paci's, and if she throws them out of her crib he gets them for her), playing side by side and actually sharing (most of the time), and just plain mimicking each other in just about every way (this can be good and bad keep in mind:)
And even though double diaper duty can be a bit taxing, and just the constant servitude of taking care of 2 children that still need a lot of taking care of, we still say we are SO glad we had them this close together. I pray, pray, pray, they stay such great buddies. I cannot think of anything better than knowing they will always have each other!
Kaleb is just, what can I say, I am whipped! I am so proud of the little guy he has become, and I am thinking I may really end up missing him for the few short hours, 2 days a week he'll be gone at preschool come August. We have been working on potty training, or at least starting to. I've been reading up on some techniques, he's been watching an Elmo potty training video that he loves, and we have books we read at bedtime about it. He also has a new "lovey", or at least I guess it is, and not just a phase. But we were at the Disney store a few weeks ago and he spotted the mountain of stuffed Disney dolls and he grabbed a Daisy Duck and basically hasn't put her down since. Wherever him and blankie go, she goes. And if you ask him if he loves Daisy he gets all bashful, it is so cute. Lou has dubbed it his first crush, and based on how he acts with her I'd say that's exactly what it is. So cute!
Other than that, he is the most lovable, gentle, sweet, polite, little thing. All great qualities for having a little sissy! Couple those qualities with the "man business" ones (as Lou calls it), that Daddy will teach along the way, and he will be quite the gentleman I think! Some of the things he says that can make you absolutely melt: "I love you so much Mommy/Daddy", "I miss you", "Can I have a kiss", "Good night Mommy/Daddy" (especially when he is all tucked in under his covers and not fighting bedtime at all!), "Tell Mommy/Daddy I poopied" (this was a great new development because it makes diaper changes so much easier--not smashed!), "Bless you Mommy/Daddy" (when you sneeze of course), and "Excuse me I burped". I don't think he ever seemed older to me than yesterday when we were at my doctor and the receptionist asked him how old he was, and without my prompting or coaxing him along he just blurted out "I'm 2!" and tried and almost succeeded at holding up 2 fingers. Again, speechless.
Ok well wow, what a blog entry. Guess I should update more often with more than pictures and New Moon news, hehe.
Here's some recent cutie pie pix...

All curled up watching his now favorite movie Madagascar (oh and holding blankie and his 1st love Daisy)
Kaleb refused a nap this day and look what happened around 4...Kelby obviously thinks it's hilarious!
Kelby had diaper rash so I left her in the buff for a bit and thought I'd see if she'd go on the potty. Struck out this time, but I wouldn't be surprised if when Kaleb gets going, she'll follow close behind since she has to do everything he does!
