Our little baby girl, already 17 months old, and with the personality of a 17 year old! Yes I know we are in big trouble with her! :)
Overnight she seemed to explode verbally. She says "thank you", "love you", "all done" (when eating), "juice", and her all time favorite, "hiiiiiiiii", said just like that. The other day we were at the mall play area and all she did was walk around the outer edge from one parent to another and said "hiiiiiiii". She was truly the little social butterfly and put a smile on everyone's face.
She also loves to nod now. Like I will ask her if she has a poopie diaper, and she nods her head real dramatic-like, up and down to say yes. Then when I say, "OK let's go change it", then she takes off running for her favorite game of chase.
Kaleb, oh what can I say, he definitely has Mommy wrapped around his little finger (or maybe all of them!). He is such a good boy, and an even better big brother. Such a caretaker, always making sure Kelby is happy, wondering why she's upset when she's crying and always trying to fix it. If she loses a paci out of her crib he's the first to get up and get it for her. If she's upset because he's playing with something she wants he will usually give it to her (probably just to shut her up!) lol
He talks in these full complete sentences now which still puts a smile on my face. And if we tell him he can't have something or can't do something, now he comes back with "Well why not?". And it's not sassy, just very matter-of-fact and he is looking at you for a better answer than "because".
I used to kind of feel indifferent when Lou would tell me how lucky I was to get to stay home with them. He would see the kids being cute and playing and being good and tell me it must be awesome to have that all day. It seemed to me he was clueless if he thought that was really how it was all day.
There can be multiple meltdowns, poopie diapers, boo boo's, colds, sleep issues, sharing issues, etc. Not to mention the other SAHM house duties of laundry, cleaning, bills, dishes, blah blah blah. But in retrospect, I really must now agree, no matter what obstacles we face in a day. Even on those days, I have the BEST job in the world! I feel so lucky that I am able to stay home with the kids full time, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! They give me more joy and put more smiles on my face than I could have ever imagined.
Lou is turning 40 (yes the big four-oh!) next week, and he has a 10 day vacation. We're going to Orlando for a few days, and Disney for one of them. We are very excited, and I know the kids will love it! We took them for the first time in January and now that they are older I think they will just be able to take it all in so much better.
Well that's if for now! Here's some recent pix...
